WACO, Texas -- Although its Aug. 31 season-opener against SMU is more than five months away, season ticket sales for the defending Big 12 Conference champion Baylor Bears' inaugural football season at 45,000-seat McLane Stadium have been closed out for the 2014 season, school officials announced today. At this time, the remaining tickets are being held for Baylor students, the Big 12's visiting team allotment, student-athlete guests, recruits, high school coaches and corporate partners.
"It is very gratifying that Baylor Nation is rallying to support Coach Briles and our football program in record number," said Baylor Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "McLane Stadium is sold out on a season ticket basis for 2014 and we have started a waiting list through the Bear Foundation for those still hoping to be a part of Baylor football next season."
A waiting list for those fans who want to purchase 2014 season football tickets has been established. Names will be added to the wait list until June 1 for those wishing to make a season ticket request. Fans who desire to be added to the waiting list must join the Baylor Bear Foundation for the 2014-15 year on-line at www.baylorbearfoundation.com.
As a reminder, all current 2013 season ticket holders at Floyd Casey Stadium (Bear Foundation members, non-Bear Foundation members and Bear Force One) will select their seats before any new 2014 season ticket holders do so and are entitled to the same quantity of seats they purchased in 2013. Bear Foundation memebers on the waiting list will be contacted in mid-June with updates on ticket availability, however, it is important to note that members on the wait list are not guaranteed tickets. Wait list rankings will be based upon donation level first and the individual's sign-up date as a tie-breaker. Access to season tickets for those on the wait list will be made available if any 2013 season ticket holder does not take their full seat selection they are entitled to.
The 2014 season ticket selection process has been broken down into three phases, with Tier 1 (2013-14 Bear Foundation members who had 2013 football season tickets) beginning the selection process April 10, followed by Tier 2 (non-Bear Foundation members who had 2013 season football tikets) selecting in early May, followed by Tier 3 (Bear Foundation members who did not have 2013 football season tickets) selecting seats in early June.
Detailed selection information will be sent directly to Bear Foundation members the week of March 17, with all other 2013 season ticket holders receiving information on the selection process in early April.
Baylor officials also announced that the availability of single-game tickets for all 2014 home games will be determined based upon tickets returned from the visiting teams' allotments.
Coach Art Briles' 2013 Bears went 11-2 en route to the school's first-ever Big 12 Conference title and are preparting to move into the state-of-the-art $260m McLane Stadium.
