WACO, Texas - Baylor football will host its annual spring scrimmage, Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. CT, at the Highers Complex practice fields. The controlled scrimmage, presented by Time Warner Cable, marks the conclusion of the program's 15-day spring drills.

Admission to the spring scrimmage is free, and 2014 Baylor football schedule posters will be given to all in attendance. Fans are asked to park in the Ferrell Center parking lots. A shuttle service will run between those lots and the Highers Complex from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Head coach Art Briles, in his seventh season in Waco, has a roster made up of 51 returning lettermen from last year's Big 12 title team. Meanwhile, seven scholarship newcomers have gotten their first BU action during spring drills, including four mid-year junior college signees: Jarell Broxton, Grant Campbell, Chris Sanders and Tion Wright; and three early enrollees: Jordan Feuerbacher, Davion Hall and Terence Williams.

Baylor won a school-record 11 games in 2013 and played in its first BCS-bowl, the school's record fourth straight bowl appearance.

The Bears open the 2014 season Aug. 31 by hosting SMU in the debut of the state-of-the-art McLane Stadium on the Brazos River.
