WACO, Texas - Season tickets for the 2011 Baylor football season are on sale now. Packages start at just $90 and include reserved seats to each of the Bears' school-record tying seven home games this fall at Floyd Casey Stadium.
Working with a local web design company, Baylor Athletics has also introduced a ticket microsite for 2011 football ticket sales. The site includes the 2011 season ticket commercial, information on season and single game tickets, game day information, FAQs and updated view from a seat images, which allow fans to get a virtual view from each sections at Floyd Casey Stadium. The Bears' 2011 home football schedule features contests against reigning Rose Bowl champion TCU (Sept. 2), 2011 Fiesta Bowl champion Oklahoma (Nov. 19), Texas (Dec. 3), Missouri (Nov. 4, Homecoming), Iowa State (Oct. 8), Rice (Sept. 24, Parents' Weekend) and Stephen F. Austin (Sept. 17).
Baylor returns 14 starters, including 2011 Heisman Award candidate Robert Griffin III, from last year's team which went 7-6 overall and played in the school's first bowl game in some 16 years. The Bears' record-breaking 2010 season, which saw them spend multiple weeks in the polls en route to a school-record for Big 12 victories, was fueled by a powerful offense that set or tied 55 school records (22 team and 33 individual), including total offensive yards (6,179), passing yards (3,649), average yards per rush (5.4) and scoring (405). The offense was both powerful and balanced, as Baylor was one of three schools in 2010 to rank in the top 25 nationally in both rushing (24th) and passing (19th) offense.
"We need to carry over the energy from last season," 2010 AFCA Region 4 Coach of the Year Art Briles said. "We need to carry over the excitement. Our opening game vs. TCU should be the largest season-opening crowd in (school) history."
Baylor averaged 40,043 fans per home game a year ago, the school's highest since 1995 and the total mark of 240,259 ranks third-best in Floyd Casey Stadium's 61-year history.
2011 Baylor season football tickets can be purchased online through BaylorBears.com/tickets, over the phone by calling 254.710.1000 or by visiting the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office at the Ferrell Center. The ticket office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All new season ticket orders placed between June 1-30 will be entered into a drawing for six (6) pairs of club section tickets to the Bears' Nov. 26 game against Texas Tech at Cowboys Stadium. Winners will be announced on July 1.
