WACO, Texas -
Baylor football season ticket holders looking to purchase on-campus season-long parking passes may do so beginning June 9, school officials announced Monday. Cost of the 2014 season parking pass is $100 and there is a limit of two (2) parking passes per season ticket account. Single-game parking, if available on game day, will cost $20.
Fans wishing to purchase a season-long pass will be able to select from one of the two available on-campus lots with space remaining--the Ferrell Center or Speight Garage. Those fans parking in either the Ferrell Center or Speight Garage will have the ability to ride complimentary shuttles from the parking lot to a drop-off point on University Parks and then walk over the Umphrey Bridge to McLane Stadium. The game-day walk across the Umphrey Bridge is expected to become a new tradition and likely will include the Baylor Golden Wave Marching Band, students, alumni and fans.
All Ferrell Center and Speight Garage parking is first-come, first-serve, however, the University has taken great care not to oversell the lots so that fans who purchase a pass in a particular lot are assured of being able to find a space.
Handicap parking, which will be located at the BRIC and also go on sale June 9, costs $100 and includes round-trip transportation on a handicap-accessible shuttle between the BRIC and McLane Stadium. Fans using the designated handicap parking lot will be required to have both their game-day parking pass as well as their state-issued permit/license plate on game day.
"We encourage all of our season ticket holders to purchase a season-long pass so that they are assured of the best possible parking on game days this fall," said Baylor Executive Associate A.D./External Affairs Nick Joos.
Over the last two years, Baylor has worked with a nationally regarded traffic and parking consultant to develop the most efficient transportation plan possible for McLane Stadium. As part of that plan, Baylor football fans are expected to utilize nearly 8,000 on-campus parking spaces with more than 2,000 of those being reserved for Baylor Bear Foundation donors on the stadium proper. Other credentialed parking areas being utilized for the upcoming football season are the Dutton Garage, Robinson Tower, Umphrey Law School and the Highers Athletics Complex.
Fans may purchase season-long parking passes on-line at baylorbears.com/tickets, by phone at 254-710-1000 or in-person at the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office located in the Ferrell Center, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 9.
Additional information relative to game-day parking and special access routes will be released later this summer. The Bears make their McLane Stadium debut Aug. 31 vs. SMU, in a nationally televised game that kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on FS1.
