After a dominating 70-13 win over Buffalo, Baylor football is ranked at No. 22 in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches polls released on Sunday.
BU (2-0) opened the season with a 69-3 victory over FCS-power Wofford, before dispatching of Buffalo by scoring a modern-era record for points and tallying a school-record for yards (781).
The Bears earned 295 points from voters in the AP poll, after ranking at No. 23 last week with 150 points and receiving votes in the AP preseason poll (27th, 92 points).
Baylor makes its debut in the USA Today Coaches Poll with 297 points, after receiving votes (26th, 125 points) last week and the preseason poll (29th, 80 points).
The Bears were last ranked in both polls on Sept. 23, 2012 when they were 25th in the AP poll and 24th in the coaches rankings. BU has now been ranked in both polls at least one in each of the last four seasons.
Baylor will be off this week, before hosting Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 21.
