WACO, Texas - Baylor football's Big 12 road contest vs. Kansas on Oct. 26 will be played at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised live nationally on ESPNU, the Big 12 Conference announced Monday.
BU is off to a 5-0 start to the season for the first time since 1991 and a 2-0 conference start for the first time since 2006. The Bears are ranked No. 12 in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll. That AP ranking is Baylor's highest since 1991. The Bears are the Big 12's top-ranked team in both polls for the first-time ever.
Before the game vs. the Jayhawks, Baylor will play its Homecoming game on ESPNU as the Bears host Iowa State on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Bears currently lead the country in scoring (63.4 ppg.) and total offense (715.4 ypg.), while defensively the Bears are 24th in total defense (346.0 ypg.).
Kansas is 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks host Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. this Saturday, before welcoming the Bears next weekend.
Baylor notched a 41-14 win over KU last season in Waco. The Bears lead the all-time series between the two schools, 8-4, but the Jayhawks hold a 4-2 advantage in games played in Lawrence.
The game vs. KU is Baylor's second straight on the ESPN family of networks, after playing its first five on FOX channels. It will be the Bears' 24th straight game to be broadcast on national TV.
