Football Hosts Oklahoma State for Homecoming
Weekly Press Conference MEDIA INFORMATION SERIES BAYLOR BEARS OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS Baylor returns to action Saturday, Oct. 24, hosting Oklahoma State for a Big 12 Conference South Division game. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:32 a.m. CDT at Floyd Casey Stadium. This is third conference game this season for both teams. Saturday's game, which is part of homecoming festivities on the Baylor campus, will be televised nationally on the Versus Network. The Bears (3-3, 0-2) dropped a 24-10 decision at Iowa State last Saturday, suffering consecutive losses for the first time this season. Baylor is 2-1 at home this season with wins over Northwestern State and Kent State and a loss to Connecticut. The Cowboys (5-1, 2-0) have won four straight after a 33-17 victory at home against Missouri last Saturday night. Oklahoma State, which has scored at least 35 points in five consecutive games, is 1-0 on the road this season; the Cowboys won 36-31 at Texas A&M two weeks ago. OSU is ranked 14th in this week's Associated Press Top 25, 12th in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll and 15th in the initial BCS standings. BAYLOR IN TELEVISED GAMES This is Baylor's fifth all-time game on Versus and its first this season. The Bears are 0-4 on the network, falling to at Texas A&M and at home to Texas in 2007, and at Nebraska and at Texas Tech last season. BAYLOR vs. RANKED OPPONENTS Since the Associated Press began conducting weekly polls in 1936, Baylor has played at least one ranked opponent every season except 1987. Baylor has played at least one top-10 team every season since 1993. BAYLOR HOMECOMING HISTORY Baylor, which first recognized homecoming in 1909, is among five universities that were the first to hold homecoing festivities -- Illinois, Northern Illinois, Indiana and Michigan being the others. This is the first time Baylor has played Oklahoma State as its homecoming opponent. Baylor has faced TCU (31 meetings) the most on homecoming, followed by Texas A&M (20), Arkansas (eight), Texas Tech (four), Iowa State (two), Kansas State (two), Missouri (two), Texas (two), and five other teams once.
