 Complete Big 12 Release

IRVING, Texas - A total of 13 Baylor football student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Big 12 team, the conference office announced on Thursday.

Baylor has had at least 10 Academic All-Big 12 honorees in every season since 2005, and the Bears have placed at least five on the first team in each of the last nine seasons.

Offensive lineman Troy Baker (junior; MBA), nickel back Collin Brence (junior, professional sales), tight end Rhett Butler (senior; biology), offensive lineman Spencer Drango (sophomore; finance), wide receiver Clay Fuller (junior; real estate), tight end Jordan Najvar (senior; MBA), and offensive lineman Jason Osei (redshirt freshman; computer science) were named to the first team.

Nickel back Sam Holl (senior; general studies), offensive lineman Stefan Huber (senior; health administration), linebacker Eddie Lackey (senior; general studies), defensive end Chris McAllister (senior; speech communication), quarterback Bryce Petty (junior, sports management) and linebacker Brody Trahan (senior; sports pedagogy) earned second-team honors.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

The Bears (9-0, 6-0) will now face No. 11 Oklahoma State on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Stillwater, Okla. That game will be broadcast to a full national audience on ABC.
