WACO, Texas -
Baylor will host Louisiana-Monroe for Parents' Weekend on Sept. 21, 2013 and welcome Iowa State for its 82nd Homecoming game on Oct. 19, 2013, Baylor officials announced on Tuesday.
In the final year of play at Floyd Casey Stadium, Baylor will square off against ULM for the first time in Waco. This season, the Bears defeated the Warhawks, 47-42, in Monroe, La., in the first meeting between the two schools.
Baylor will be facing Iowa State for the third time on Homecoming. The Bears and Cyclones also played on Homecoming in 1996 and 2004 with the teams splitting the two games. Overall, BU is 38-39-4 in Homecoming games and currently on a three-game win streak in the contests.
Baylor's Homecoming Parade is the largest in the nation, and Baylor is among the first five schools nationally ever to celebrate homecoming. The Bears held their first homecoming in 1909 and it became an annual event in 1930 when the name was changed from "Good Will Week" to Homecoming.
The entire 2012 schedule for the Bears includes six home games, five games on the road and the 2013 Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Shootout against Texas Tech at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Times will be announced for all of the games at a later date.
To conclude the 2012 season, Baylor (7-5, 4-5 Big 12) will face UCLA (9-4, 6-3 Pac-12) in the 2012 Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl in San Diego on Dec. 27. The Bears will be appearing in a bowl game for a third straight season for the first time in program history. The contest is slated for an 8:45 p.m. CT kick from Qualcomm Stadium.
