THE RUNDOWN
AUGUSTA, Ga. -
The Baylor men's golf team shot even-par 288 in Sunday's final round to finish in fifth place at 3-under-par in the 3M Augusta Invitational. The Bears extended their streak of top-five finishes to six straight tournaments, covering the entire spring season.

UCF (-18) won the tournament by one stroke Texas (-17). The Bears (-3) also placed behind Virginia Tech (-14) and Illinois (-12). The Bears moved up from sixth place entering the day by shooting seven strokes better than Houston in the final round.

Two Baylor players finished the tournament in the top 20 individually. Junior Kyle Jones finished in third place after a final round of 4-under-par 68. It was Jones' fourth top-10 individual finish in six tournaments during the spring season. Filippo Zucchetti shot even-par in his final round to move up 11 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 20th place.

Sophomore Andreas Gjesteby shot even-par in Sunday's round to move into a tie for 30th place at 3-over-par for the tournament. Jerry Ruiz was one stroke behind at 4-over-par, finishing the tournament in a tie for 38th place. Niclas Mansson finished at 8-over-par in a tie for 55th place.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Jones had seven birdies in the final round, including five on the back nine to shoot 31.
• Four of five Baylor players birdied hole No. 11 - Jones, Ruiz, Gjesteby and Zucchetti.
• Mansson birdied the seventh hole. He was one of four players to birdie the hole in the final round.
• Jones birdied holes 17 and 18 to move into third place for the tournament.

"The guys played well this week against a strong field," head coach Greg Priest said. "Kyle had another great tournament and had a chance to win. I think this should give us some confidence heading into the Big 12 Championship."
