The Bears (+25, 877) were in 10th place heading into Sunday's final round, and they moved up two spots on the leader board after shooting 8-over-par 292. Three Big 12 teams swept the top spots, with tournament host Texas (-4, 848) winning its second straight tournament, followed by Texas Tech (+1, 853) and TCU (+2, 854).
"I thought we finished the tournament on a good note," head coach Greg Priest said. "It's always great to be able to move up on the final day."
Sophomore Kyle Jones (+1, 214) finished tied for 11th place individually, one stroke out of the top 10. The tournament was his fifth top-15 individual finish of the season.
Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen (+6, 219) tied for 31st place, followed by Ryan O'Rear (+9, 222), who tied for 43rd place. Sophomore Niclas Mansson (+12, 225) shot 12-over-par to tie for 50th, while Filippo Zucchetti (+16, 229) shot a final round 74 to tie for 60th. Matthew Seligmann (+18, 231), who was competing as an individual, finished 63rd overall.
"I think we learned a lot about ourselves over the course of the year, and this is when we want to be playing our best," Priest said. "If we can learn from our mistakes and put it all together, I like our chances."
The Bears have wrapped up the regular season and now head to the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship, which runs April 22- 24 in Hutchinson, Kan.
