THE RUNDOWN
INDEPENDENCE, Minn. - Baylor finished in second place with a final score of 2-over-par 854 at the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club. The Bears moved up two places in the standings after shooting 3-under as a team in the final round.

Baylor's final round score of 281 was best in the 12-team field, allowing the Bears to move in front of Kent State and California, which entered the day in second and third place, respectively.

The Bears had four players finish in the top-20 individually. Senior Jerry Ruiz tied for fourth place at 4-under-par 209 in his first tournament since April of 2012. Kyle Jones tied for 10th place at 1-over par 214, while Andreas Gjesteby's final round of 1-under 70 moved him up six places to 15th place at 3-over 216 and Filippo Zucchetti jumped 17 spots in the standings to a tie for 19th after a final-round 2-under-par 69 helped him finish at 5-over-par 218. Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen finished in 45th place at 14-over-par 227.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Ruiz had 12 birdies for the tournament, which tied for the third-most in the 64-player field.
• Zucchetti had six birdies in his final round of 2-under-par 69.
• The Bears had the tournament's best final round team score of three-under-par 281.
• Baylor finished three strokes in front of third place Kent State and six strokes back of tournament champion New Mexico.
