PRINCEVILLE, Hawai'i - The Baylor men's golf team finished day one of the Warrior Wave Intercollegiate in fifth place after shooting an opening round 1-under-par 287 on Monday at the Makai Golf Club.

The Bears (-1; 287) trail tournament leader Georgia Southern (-5; 283) by four strokes. North Carolina State (-4; 284), East Tennessee State (-2; 286) and UC Irvine (-2; 286) round out the top five. Baylor has a four-stroke lead on UC Santa Barbara (+3; 291) and Pepperdine (+3; 291), who are tied for sixth place.

Kyle Jones (-1; 71) and Niclas Mansson (-1; 71) lead all Baylor golfers and are in a six-way tie for 13th place individually. They trail tournament leaders Amol Mahal (-4; 68) of UC Santa Barbara, Adrian Meronk (-4; 68) of East Tennessee State and Korey Ward (-4; 68) of Xavier by only three strokes.

Filippo Zucchetti (E; 72) is tied for 19th place, while Matthew Seligmann (+1; 73) and Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen (+1; 73) enter day two tied for 24th place. Baylor was the only team to have all five golfers shoot 1-over-par or better on day one, and with only four of five scores contributing to the team score, the Bears' uncounted 73 was three strokes better than any other teams' uncounted scores.

Tee times for Tuesday's second round begin at 11:30 a.m. CT. Seligmann has Baylor's first tee time at 12:15 p.m., and he'll be followed in nine-minute intervals by Bjerch-Andresen, Zucchetti, Jones and Mansson, respectively.
