Men's Golf Heads to Augusta State Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The No. 40-ranked Baylor men's golf team is traveling to Augusta, Ga., to compete in the Insperity Augusta State Invitational, which runs Saturday and Sunday at the par-72, 7,142 yard Forest Hills Golf Club.

The 35th-annual event features 15 teams, including 12 teams ranked in the nation's top 50 in the latest GolfStat rankings. Teams will play 36 holes on Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start, followed by 18 holes on Sunday. Live scoring for each round can be found at

The field includes No. 40 Baylor, Division II No. 3 USC Aiken, No. 6 Texas, No. 16 SMU, No. 17 Georgia, No. 24 Illinois, No. 25 Houston, No. 27 Tennessee, No. 29 Clemson, No. 35 South Carolina, No. 37 Virginia Tech No. 39 Central Florida, No. 50 Coastal Carolina, along with Purdue and host Augusta State.

Baylor's lineup features four sophomores with Filippo Zucchetti, Kyle Jones, Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Niclas Mansson, as well as senior Ryan O'Rear.

Mansson and Jones lead the Bears into the tournament with after finishing in the top 10 individually at Baylor's last tournament, the Desert Shootout.
