Live Scoring for The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The 27th-ranked Baylor men’s golf team will compete April 9-10 at The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate, the first of three consecutive in-state tournaments for the Bears.

The 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Houston, will consist of 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday at the par-72, 7,018-yard course at The Woodlands Country Club, which was once the home of the Shell Houston Open.

Monday’s rounds will begin with an 8:30 a.m. CDT shotgun start, while Tuesday’s final round will begin with an 8 a.m. CDT start off the No. 1 and 10 tees. Baylor is one of eight Texas schools in the 15-team field. Live scoring for all three rounds will be available at www.GolfStat.com.

2012 Byron Nelson Award finalist Joakim Mikkelsen leads Baylor into its second-to-last spring tournament before heading to the Big 12 Championship in Trinity. Mikkelsen leads the Bears in every major statistical category, including rounds counted (96.3 percent), scoring average (71.00), score vs. par (-0.67) and rounds of par or better (21). Mikkelsen has posted seven of Baylor’s 15 top-10 individual finishes.

Senior Lorenzo Scotto, junior Jerry Ruiz and freshmen Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Kyle Jones join Mikkelsen in Baylor’s five-golfer lineup. Bjerch-Andresen ranks second to Mikkelsen with a 72.43 scoring average, 0.71 score vs. par and 14 rounds of par or better. Jones and Scotto are third and fourth, respectively, in scoring average. Ruiz is making his first appearance in Baylor’s lineup since the spring opener at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational. He also competed as an individual at last month’s Border Olympics.

Baylor enters The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate after tying for fourth place at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational last week. Jones tied for ninth after a career-low 7-under 209, while Mikkelsen tied for 14th at 5-under 211.

Following action at The Woodlands, Baylor concludes its spring schedule April 21-22 at The Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas.
