Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Niclas Mansson were named to the Academic All-Big 12 men's golf second team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Baylor has now had 28 Academic All-Big 12 selections under 10th-year head coach Greg Priest, and the Bears have earned 40 total Academic All-Big 12 honors in the conference's 17-year history.
Mansson repeated as a second-team member after being honored as a sophomore a season ago. An entrepreneurship and management information systems major from Halmstad, Sweden, Mansson has a 73.13 stroke average and has shot par or better in 10 of 30 rounds this season. He tied for third at the Desert Shootout after shooting a 54-hole-best 210.
Bjerch-Andresen, a sophomore economics major from Baerum, Norway, ranks third on the team with a 73.03 stroke average and has two top-10 finishes on the year, including a 2-under-par 214 that helped the Bears capture the Warrior-Wave Intercollegiate title in November.
Nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services, the Academic All-Big 12 men's golf team consisted of 20 first-team honorees and seven second-team selections. First team members have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while second team honorees hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence, and seniors who have participated for at least two year are exempt from the participation requirement.
Baylor, which is ranked No. 40 nationally by GolfStat, concludes its regular season with the Morris Williams Intercollegiate, which runs Saturday though Sunday in Austin, Texas.
