BRYAN, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team faces its final tune-up before the Big 12 Championship when the Bears compete at the Aggie Invitational Saturday and Sunday.

The 12-team tournament will feature 36 holes on Saturday, followed by the final 18 on Sunday with play beginning at 7:30 a.m. CDT each day at the par-72, 7,235-yard Traditions Golf Club. Live scoring for the Aggie Invitational will be available at

In addition to Baylor, the Aggie Invitational field includes Kansas, Kent State, Lamar, New Mexico, Ohio State, No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 20 San Diego State, No. 12 TCU, No. 22 and host Texas A&M, No. 13 Texas Tech and Wichita State.

This weekend will mark the return of the Aggie Invitational which was last played in 2006, when Texas Tech edged Texas A&M for the team title. Oklahoma State won the inaugural crown in 2005.

After posting six top-five finishes in their first eight tournaments, the Bears have finished 11th in each of their last two competitions. Last month, Baylor won the 16-team Border Olympics by a commanding seven strokes. Baylor's lineup will feature senior Bill Allcorn, junior Colton Williams, sophomore Austin Berkovsky and freshmen Lorenzo Scotto, Morten Bergan and Joakim Mikkelsen.

Allcorn and Mikkelsen have started in each of Baylor's 10 tournaments this season. Allcorn ranks fourth in stroke average (73.41), score vs. par (1.83) and percentage of rounds counted (79.3). The Abilene, Texas, native has carded nine rounds of par or better and four top-10 finishes. Mikkelsen leads the team in rounds counted (25.5), score vs. par (1.48) and rounds of par of better (13). He currently ranks second in stroke average (73.07) behind Williams (72.64).

For Williams, the Aggie Invitational will be only his second tournament of the spring season after being sidelined with a knee injury. The 2008 All-Big 12 golfer has played in six tournaments this season.

Berkovsky, a sophomore transfer from Arkansas, will be making his fourth appearance for the Bears and his first in the line-up since the season-opening Shoal Creek Intercollegiate.
