Men's Golfer Jon Antunes Earns First-Team Academic All-Big 12 Honors

WACO, Texas - Baylor golfer Jon Antunes (Belton, Texas) was named First-Team Academic All-Big 12 Conference, the league office announced Tuesday.

Antunes, a senior marketing major, earned his third straight selection to the team and has also been named to the Big 12 Commissioners' honor roll five of his six semesters at Baylor since transferring from Sam Houston State in the spring of his freshman year.

Antunes has been consistent for the Bears all season, averaging 74.89 strokes in 29 rounds this year, including 73.93 in 15 round this spring. Antunes has been Baylor's third finisher, helping lead the Bears to top two finishes in three of their last four tournaments, including a victory at the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational March 1-2.

The Bears return to action at the Big 12 Championships April 26-28 at Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
