WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team is ranked 47th nationally according to this week's MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings released Wednesday.
The Bears are moving up in the national rankings after bringing home their first conference title since 1966. Baylor is led by seniors Worth Williams and Jimmy Walker. Williams won individual medallist honors at the 2001 Big 12 Championship while also earning all-Big 12 honors for the first time in his career. Walker is now a four-time all-Big 12 performer after averaging a 71.88 in 33 rounds this year.
The Bears have now finished in the top five in nine of their last 10 tournaments. Of these nine tournament finishes, seven have been in the top three.
Baylor will next play in its fourth consecutive NCAA regional on May 17-19. The site of the regional will be announced May 8th.
