ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Baylor men's golf team, making its 15th consecutive postseason appearance, seeks the program's sixth NCAA Championship berth at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional, hosted by the University of Michigan.

The 54-hole regional tournament will be held Thu., May 17-Sat., May 19, at the par-71, 6,723-yard University of Michigan Golf Course. The low five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team will move on to the 74th annual NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif., which will be held May 29-June 3 at the Riviera Country Club.

No. 5 seed Baylor, one of 13 teams selected to the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional, is making its 20th overall NCAA postseason trip. In 2011, Baylor finished seventh at the NCAA Florida Regional, a year after advancing to the 2010 NCAA Championship in Ooltewah, Tenn.

Baylor, ranked 29th nationally by Golfstat, is one of six Big 12 teams to advance to the postseason and one of two in Ann Arbor (Oklahoma State). Eight teams in the Golfstat Top 40 are playing in Ann Arbor - No. 6 USC, No. 7 Oregon, No. 18 Kent State, No. 19 Virginia, No. 29 Baylor, No. 31 Oklahoma State, No. 42 Kennesaw State and No. 43 TCU.

Baylor's lineup will feature only two golfers with NCAA postseason experience - senior Joakim Mikkelsen and junior Ryan O'Rear. Freshmen Kyle Jones, Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Niclas Mansson will make their NCAA Regional debuts this weekend.

Mikkelsen, the 2012 Big 12 Conference champion and All-Big 12 performer, will make his fourth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. Mikkelsen has three career tournament wins, including a pair of victories this season. The Drammen, Norway, native is enjoying one of the greatest individual seasons in program history, leading the Bears with a 71.46 scoring average and -0.30 score vs. par, while posting eight top-10 finishes in 12 tournaments.

O'Rear owns a 73.94 scoring average in 31 rounds and has six top-25 finishes in 10 tournaments. The Salado, Texas, native was a member of Baylor's 2010 NCAA Championship team.

Bjerch-Andresen is second to Mikkelsen in scoring average (73.13), score vs. par (1.32), rounds of par or better (18) and top-10 finishes (three). Jones is third on the squad with a 73.48 scoring average and 11 rounds of par or better, while Mansson has a 74.67 scoring average in 21 rounds this season.

Baylor will begin its NCAA Championship hunt Thursday. First round tee times will begin at 7 a.m. CDT. Baylor, Virginia and Oklahoma State will tee off No. 10 beginning at 7:20 a.m. CDT. Live scoring for each round of the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional will be available at
