LIVERPOOL, England - Baylor men's golf sophomore Joakim Mikkelsen and alumnus Bill Allcorn concluded their respective second rounds at the British Amateur Championship Tuesday at Formby and West Lancashire Golf Clubs.
Mikkelsen finished tied for 167th overall at 9-over 153, while Allcorn finished tied for 250th overall with a 15-over 159. Both golfers missed the cut for match-play.
Mikkelsen improved by one stroke from Monday's score, carding a 4-over 76 to finish stroke-play with a 9-over 153. After a bogey on the opening par-4 hole at Formby, Mikkelsen regrouped with three-straight pars before a birdie on hole No. 5 and No.7. The Norwegian double-bogeyed on the par-4 No. 9 to finish the front nine 1-over par. Mikkelsen recorded three bogeys on the back nine to finish 4-over par on the day.
Allcorn parred the opening four holes at West Lancashire before a triple-bogey on the par-5 No. 5. He later suffered a bogey on No. 10, a double-bogey on No. 12, a bogey on No. 13 and another bogey on No. 16 to finish the day at 8-over 80. Allcorn concluded stroke-play with a 15-over 159.
