THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.- Baylor's 92nd-ranked Tony Lupieri dropped the consolation finale of the Sherwood Collegiate Cup to USC's Max deVroome 6-4, 7-6 at the Sherwood Country Club on Sunday.
Lupieri reached the consolation final round after defeating fellow Baylor player Vince Schneider 7-5, 6-7(6), 10-4 in the semifinal round, while deVroome reached the final round with a 7-6(2), 7-5 win over Baylor's Robert Verzaal.

Lupieri finished his run in Sherwood with a 3-2 record on the weekend.
Baylor will return to Waco to begin its dual match season on Friday. The Bears will face No. 38 Boise State at noon as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
