Matt Knoll's young men's tennis squad, with four freshmen in the lineup, won the doubles point then proceeded to win three singles matches to post a 4-3 road win over Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon at OSU's DeBois Tennis Complex.

The 28th-ranked Baylor raised its overall record to 14-10 overall and evened its Big 12 Conference record to 2-2 while Oklahoma State fell to 7-12 on the season and is 0-4 in league play.

Freshman Mate Zsiga, junior Roberto Maytin and senior Jullian Bley each posted two wins on the day for the Bears. Zsiga, playing at both No. 1 singles and doubles while Maytin played at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles and Bley saw action at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Zsiga, ranked No. 23 nationally, raised his team-best season record to 32-5, including an 18-2 mark in dual match play. With win over two ranked singles opponents this past weekend, he is now 13-5 vs. ranked foes.

Baylor won the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches. At No. 3, senior Julian Bley and sophomore Robert Verzaal quickly disposed of OSU's Brandon Champagne and Trevor Horstmann, 8-1. Next, Maytin and senior Kike Grangeiro downed Chris Haworth and Eric West, 8-1, on court two. Finally, playing at No. 1, No. 67 Zsiga and freshman Diego Galeano downed Rifat Biktyakov and Vlad Bondarenko, 8-4.

Bley, playing at No. 6 singles, walked off the court first with a 6-1, 6-1 win to give the Bears their second point. OSU countered with a singles win when Biktyakov downed freshman Marko Krickovic at No. 2, 6-4. 6-2. Zsiga gave BU a 3-1 edge when he downed No. 100 Bondarenko in three sets (6-0, 3-6, 6-1) at No. 1, however, OSU narrowed the gap to 3-2 when West downed Galeano at No. 4 (6-4, 1-6, 6-3). No. 95 Maytin clinched the match for the Bears with a three-set win at No. 3 singles. Maytin lost the first set in a tiebreak but countered with 6-4, 6-1 victories in the final two stanzas to secure the victory for the Bears. OSU claimed its third point when, playing at No. 5, Horstmann downed freshman Lars Behlen, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4.

The Bears will play their final regular-season match of the year when they travel to College Station, Texas, on Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m., to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.
