TULSA, Okla.- Baylor's 16th-ranked Patrick Pradella and No. 38 Julian Lenz both won two matches in ITA All-American Championship main draw singles action on Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Lenz began his ITA All-American run against No. 28 Esben Hess-Olesen of North Carolina, upsetting the Tar Heel in straight sets 7-6(4), 7-5. Later in the day, the BU sophomore secured his first-ever win over a top-10 opponent by dominating No. 7 Nick Scholtz of Mississippi, 6-3, 6-4.
Pradella, the tournament's 13th-seed, claimed a 7-5 first-set victory over 87th-ranked Jordan Vliegen of East Carolina. However, Vliegen fought back to take a 3-6 second-set win, before Pradella clinched the match with a 6-1 victory in the third set. The win advanced Pradella through to face No. 34 Cameron Silverman of Elon in second round action and despite being pushed to tiebreakers in both sets the BU senior prevailed, 7-6(1), 7-6(4).
BU's 22nd-ranked doubles pairing of Galeano and Zsiga delivered an 8-7(2) upset over Elon's16th-ranked Silverman and Stefan Fortmann in first round doubles action.

STAT OF THE DAY:
Lenz's two victories on the first day of main draw action up his current win streak to five matches and leave him at a perfect 5-0 on the season.
In third round singles action on Friday, Lenz will play Ronnie Schneider at 10:30 a.m., while Pradella will face No. 42 Clarke Spinosa of San Diego at 11:30 a.m. In doubles action, Galeano and Zsiga will face No. 1 seeded and No. 1 ranked Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese of Tennessee at 2 p.m.
