TULSA, Okla. - Baylor’s 16th-ranked Patrick Pradella and No. 38 Julian Lenz advanced to the quarterfinal round of the ITA All-American Championships singles main draw on Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Lenz improved his win streak to seven consecutive matches with a win over North Carolina’s Ronnie Schneider. Lenz, who picked up a 6-3 first set victory, dropped the second set 4-6. He then closed out the match with a dominant 6-3 victory in the third to secure a place in the quarterfinals.
Pradella, the tournament’s 13th-seed, overcame a 5-7 first-set loss to secure his spot in the quarterfinals with a pair of 6-3 wins in sets two and three. Pradella is now 7-1 on the year.
In doubles play, the 22nd-ranked BU duo of Diego Galeano and Mate Zsiga fell to the country’s top team of Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese from Tennessee, 8-3. The loss ends the BU tandem’s run at the event in the second round.

With his win today, Lenz improves to a perfect 7-0 on the season.
Lenz will face George Goldhoff of Texas in the quarterfinal round on Saturday. Pradella will also face another Big 12 opponent in No. 36 Guillermo Alcorta of Oklahoma. Both of those matches start at 9:30 a.m.
