MANSFIELD, Texas - Baylor junior Jordan Rux stands only one win away from advancing to the main draw of this week's USTA Futures Pro Circuit event, after a three set victory over Texas' Ed Corrie on Sunday morning at the Walnut Creek Country Club.
After dropping the first set 6-2 Rux rebounded to take the second 6-3. In a hard fought third and deciding set the Kerrville, Texas product came out on top against Corrie, 7-5.
The win coupled with Saturday's 6-1, 6-2 victory over Robert Sajovich gives Rux two of the necessary three wins in qualifying play in order to advance to the main draw.
