WACO, Texas - The No. 4 ranked Baylor men's tennis team will host a doubleheader Monday, March 26 at the Baylor Tennis Center taking on St. Edwards at 3:00 p.m. and Texas-Arlington at 7 p.m.
After defeating Nebraska in the Bears' first conference play of the season, the Bears enter Monday's matches 1-0 in the Big 12, 14-2 overall. Baylor owns an 11-1 series mark against St. Edwards and is tied 5-5 in the series against Texas-Arlington.
"The matches Monday give the guys an opportunity to improve and to keep working on strengths and weaknesses," said head coach Matt Knoll. "We'll experiment with some doubles combinations and gain some experience."
The Bears have four players ranked in the latest FILA/ITA Collegiate Rankings including No. 14 Michal Kokta, No. 18 Lars Poerschke, No. 91 Dominik Mueller and No. 108 Matija Zgaga. In doubles, Zgaga and David Galic earned honors at the No. 43 spot while Poerschke and Galic ranked No. 48.
The Bears are back in action on Sunday, April 1 when they host Pepperdine at 2 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
