WACO, Texas - The 22nd-ranked Baylor men's tennis team (13-4) will host No. 34 Memphis (7-5) Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center. This will be the Bears' last home match before they go on the road to start conference play.

"We are kind of racing toward Easter break," head coach Matt Knoll said. "We have a really competitive Memphis team coming in here and it is going to be rough for us, but then we will take a little bit of a break and get ready to race towards the finish line."

BU has won three consecutive matches and is 10-2 in Waco this season.

The Bears have five singles competitors ranked in the latest ITA ranking that were released Tuesday afternoon. Patrick Pradella, Julian Lenz, Tony Lupieri, Mate Zsiga, and Marko Krickovic are ranked 33, 71, 80, 99 and 101 respectively.

Patrick Pradella is riding a four-match win streak that started on March 14 when he defeated No. 13 Jonas Lutjen 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) of Mississippi. In his last match out, Pradella topped Cal's No. 66 Christopher Konigsfeldt 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

Tony Lupieri is another Baylor player who has been climbing in the rankings. Playing predominantly in the three and four spots, Lupieri has won five in a row dating back to his March 11 victory over No. 24 Ryan Shane of Virginia 6-3, 6-2. Since the March 11 win, Lupieri has defeated two other ranked opponents including No. 46 Campbell Johnson of California.

Memphis earned a 4-1 victory vs. No. 45 San Diego State in its last match out.

No. 110 Johnny Grimal is the only singles competitor for the Tigers to be ranked in the latest ITA rankings.

Baylor currently holds a perfect 2-0 record against the Tigers. The last time the two teams squared off was in the first round of the NCAA Championship last season, which the Bears won 4-2.

Following Thursday's match, the Bears will on the road to face No. 39 Texas Tech in the first Big 12 conference match of the season on April 7.
