Men's Tennis Adds Fourth Player for Fall

Matt Knoll adds a fourth player for the fall.

WACO, Texas - Diego Galeano has signed a to play tennis at Baylor, head coach Matt Knoll announced Wednesday.

Galeano, a right-hander from Ascuncion, Paraguay, has ranked as high as No. 44 in the International Junior Tennis Federation's world rankings and was a member of the ITF Touring team. He has been ranked No. 1 in Paraguay throughout his junior career and is a member of Paraguay's Davis Cup team. Galeano has attained a high ATP singles ranking of No. 677 and No. 419 in doubles.

"Diego is a hard working and dynamic player with an amazing passion for the game. He comes from a strong family that places a high value on education. He's a terrific addition to our program and together with the group we've already signed, the future is incredibly bright. Our team welcomes him to the Baylor family with open arms," said Knoll.

He is the son of Pio and Eugenia Galeano and has three sisters and a brother.

Galeano joins Lars Behlen (Munster, Germany), Marko Krickovic (Ismaning, Germany) and Mate Zsiga (Szeged, Hungary) who signed National Letters of Intent earlier this year.
