WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's tennis team landed five student-athletes on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) preseason poll sponsored by Fila. The rankings include the nation's top 125 singles players and 60 doubles teams.
Four Bears are ranked among the nation's top 125 singles players it was recently announced. Sophomore Dominik Mueller (Frankfurt, Germany) was the highest ranked Baylor player, checking in at No. 61 after ending his rookie campaign at No. 101. Another sophomore, Denes Lukacs (Eger, Hungary) who was unranked at the end of the 2007 season, is listed at No 78. Junior Matt Brown (Chesham, England) is No. 110 and freshman Jordan Rux (Kerrville, Texas) debuted at No. 113. Rux, although he has not played a collegiate match, was ranked No. 1 in the nation last year in boys' 18 singles.
Baylor landed one doubles tandem on the rankings list as junior David Galic (Frankston, Australia) and Lukacs are No. 28.
