WACO, Texas- Baylor men's tennis finished their play in the HEB Invitational with losses in the semifinals Sunday at the Baylor Tennis Center.

The final day of tournament play began at 9 a.m. with the semifinals as two Bears, second-seeded Denes Lukacs and Jordan Rux, took to the courts to challenge seeded opponents. Rux had a tough match as he went up against first-seeded Oleksandr Nedovyesov of Oklahoma State. Nedovyesiv defeated Rux 6-3, 6-2. In a close match where both sets went to tie breakers, third-seeded Arnan Brugues of Tulsa upset Lukacs 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3).

"I can't think of a better way to start the fall season than this weekend's tournament," said head coach Matt Knoll. "We played some amazing competition and will benefit tremendously. We offer our congratulations to the guys that beat us today. They both played very well. We have one week of work leading up to the All-American and we know we'll have even more great opportunities in Tulsa. Thanks to all the coaches, players, officials, and volunteers for making the tournament a big success."

Nedovyesov went onto win the A singles draw with a victory over Brugues 6-0, 7-6 (4). Michael Jung of Alabama won the B singles draw after downing Jim Brouleau of New Mexico State in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Doubles partners Moritz Baumann of Wisconsin-Madison and Marek Michalicka of Wisconsin captured the A doubles draw with their win over Rudy Siwy and Mirko Zapletal of Fresno State 8-5.
