WACO, Texas -- Baylor men's tennis will have four players compete at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Indian Wells and Palm Desert, Calif. on Nov. 1-5.
In doubles, the second-seeded junior duo of Johannes Schretter and Will Little open play against Oregon's Cormac Clissold and Thomas Laurent in the round of 32. The duo is 3-1 together and qualified for the tournament with a semifinal berth at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. earlier this month.
Also competing in singles, No. 40 and eighth-seeded Schretter faces Mississippi State's Giovanni Oradini in the round of 64.
Junior Jimmy Bendeck opens play against seventh-seeded Constantin Schmitz of Tulane. Bendeck is 6-4 on the fall season in singles, most recently advancing to the ITA Regional Championships semifinals in College Station.
Also, sophomore Bjoern Petersen competes in his first collegiate singles tournament with a first round matchup against 14th-seeded Wayne Montgomery of Georgia.
The 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which serves as the concluding event to the fall portion of the college tennis schedule, is the only intercollegiate event to feature competitors from all five divisions competing for a national championship.
