WACO, Texas -
Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling returns to action in its third meet of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) season when the Bears travel to Fairmont, W.V. to take on Fairmont State and Quinnipiac in a tri-meet at 1 p.m. CT Sunday.
"Our expectations are just to go have a great time," head coach LaPrise Harris-Williams said. "I think the girls are going to be better prepared at this meet. They've been able to do more repetitions and I expect a strong performance.
"Coming in and seeing that they can hit the skills that we've set up for them has motivated them on their own," Harris-Williams added. "The team just really pulled together. I think they're self-motivating at this point."
Baylor is competing in its third straight road meet to open the season. The Bears opened the 2012 year at Azusa Pacific on Feb. 4 and had a month break before they returned to competition at Oregon last Sunday. Baylor's meet at Fairmont State is its only multiple-team competition of the year.
Following the tri-meet, Baylor returns to Waco to host its first home meet of the season. The Bears will take on Maryland at the Ferrell Center at 6 p.m. on March 24. Baylor will also be hosting the NCATA National Championships in Waco on April 26-28. All NCATA events are sanctioned through USA Gymnastics.
