WACO, Texas - After opening the season with three consecutive road meets, Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling hosts its first home meet of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) season when the Bears (2-2) take on Maryland (4-1) at the Ferrell Center at 6 p.m. CT Saturday.
"My expectation for this weekend is just for the girls to do what they've practiced," head coach LaPrise Harris-Williams said. "Our goal is to be our own sport and to make sure we're having fun."
The Bears, still fired up from their double win against Fairmont State and Quinnipiac the last time out on March 11, are ready to compete again.
"Practices have been very focused and direct," Harris-Williams said. "Maryland will be a tough team to compete against, but I know our girls will do their best. They'll have their best performances again this weekend."
Following the meet against Maryland, the Bears host their second home meet of the season when they take on Oregon for the second time this season on March 31 at the Ferrell Center. Baylor will also be hosting the NCATA National Championships in Waco April 26-28. All NCATA events are sanctioned through USA Gymnastics.
