WACO, Texas – Baylor acrobatics & tumbling incoming junior-transfer Hope Bravo was named to the 2017 USA Gymnastics Senior Elite Trampoline & Tumbling National Team. She will be competing for a spot to represent the U.S. at the World Championships Nov. 9-19 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A transfer from Navarro Junior College, Bravo has already competed with the U.S. Junior National Team and Olympic Development Team for tumbling.
The Dallas native is currently preparing for the World Championships Selection Camp that will be held in Huntsville, Texas on Aug. 31-Sept. 3 and the World Age Group Selection Camp in the same location on Sept. 7-10. If she earns another selection, Bravo will then go on to represent the U.S. at the World Championships in Bulgaria.
Bravo has already competed in several events as a member of Team USA, including the Winter Classic in Battlecreek, Michigan on Feb. 24-26, the Texas State Championships in April, the Regional Championships in May, the Elite Challenge in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 18-21 and the Senior National Team Camp in Huntsville on May 25-28.
After spending two years at Navarro Junior College, Bravo joins the Bears for the 2018 season as BU looks to continue its run of capturing three straight National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) national titles.
