The 2008-09 season marks Edsel Hamilton's second season as a graduate assistant with the Lady Bear basketball program.

Hamilton's primary duties include coordinating the film exchange program and working closely with the coaching staff to prepare for opponents and in recruit correspondence. In addition, he will coordinate the Dream Team, the all-male practice squad.

Hamilton came to Baylor after spending three years working with the USC Women of Troy basketball team. Two of those years were spent as a member of the all-male practice squad. His third-year duties included managing the team's statistics software and assisting with practices, team travel and office work. In addition, he worked several collegiate camps including USC's Women's Elite Camp, USC Men's Individual Camp, St. Mary's Men's Individual Camp and Pepperdine's Men's Individual Camp.

A native of Pflugerville, Texas, Hamilton is a 2007 graduate of USC with a degree in economics. While on the Southern California campus, he was a Trustee Scholar, the University's most prestigious and valuable scholarship awarded to only 100 students for each class at USC, and a National Merit Scholar.

Hamilton, a native of Pflugerville, Texas, graduated in 2003 from Hyde Park Baptist School in Austin, Texas, where he lettered in four sports. He was an all-district selection in both basketball and football and a state qualifier in track. He also lettered in tennis. Edsel Poston Hamilton IV was born Feb. 8, 1985, in Austin, Texas.

In addition to his basketball commitments, Hamilton is pursuing a graduate degree in Sport Management at Baylor.
