Texas Tech pulled away from Baylor 62-48 Saturday for its 13th straight
Tech (13-1, 2-0 Big 12) took control in the final four minutes, finishing
with a 13-2 run. Baylor (12-2, 1-1) had pulled within 49-46 on an inside basket
by Sophia Young.
On Tech's ensuing possession, Young was whistled for a personal foul and a
Tech's Natalie Ritchie and Davis converted the four ensuing free throws to
push the lead to 53-46 with 3:50 remaining.
Moments later, Ritchie added a 10-foot jumper that gave Tech a 55-46 lead.
Davis scored inside, Jametra Clark added a free throw and Jia Perkins scored on
a 12-foot jumper as Tech capped an 11-0 run.
Baylor had whittled a 44-34 deficit to 44-41 with seven straight points by
Dionne Brown paced Baylor with 13 points. Blackmon finished with 11, and
Jessica Stratton added 10.
