  Head Coach Kim Mulkey

On the team and everybody getting to play:
“This particular team, and the players that don’t get as many minutes, I have never coached a group that works any harder in practice. They don’t pout and they make us better. I say that in all sincerity. It is very difficult at this level to go from high school and being an All-American, playing and doing all of that, to becoming a role player and maybe not even playing. This team is becoming better because of what they do in scouting and what they do in practices. I told them that a week ago and for them to get to play in front of a crowd like this and not just go in when the game is out of hand, that is important to me, it is important to them, and it is important to this basketball team. They need to get their props every now and then because they really work hard everyday.”

On Brittney’s block before the half:
“Well you just don’t see that every game. It is almost scary. As a team, we do see that every day, but I don’t take it for granted. And the fans don’t either, I think the fans applauded her the way they should have because how many people can do that?”

On winning the game:
“Well I told everybody when we were up at the half, I have a very good basketball team and we have a lot of players. I thought that it was important on family night to play everybody, and to do it early. Tonight was a game where everybody got to see their child play, and everybody should be happy.”

  Freshman Guard Odyssey Sims

On hustling late in the game:
“I don’t want to pass up opportunities for hustle plays. So it is just in my mind that if there is a loose ball, to just go get it.”

  Sophomore Post Brittney Griner

On her block at the end of the first half:
“Those are my favorite. I see LeBron (James) do it a lot. And when I saw her go up… I knew I was either going to go flying out of bounds or I was going to get the block. I just kept running and when I saw her go up I jumped.”

On seeing the whole team play:
“I am glad everybody got to play today. I don’t know how coach does it, everybody is just so talented.”

Oklahoma State Head Coach Kurt Budke

Opening statement:
“Obviously they’ve got a great team, the number one team in the country and the number one player in the country. They just do what they do to you. They take everything inside away and we’ve got a young group that has a lot to learn. But it was good for them to come down here and play in front of a great crowd like this and learn how you have to play to be successful in this league.”

On the play of the Baylor defense:
“They just very seldom give you a second shot. I thought we had open shots tonight, makeable shots. I mean they do a great job of defending, but I thought we had makeable shots. Toni played her game tonight and did well, but I don’t think she had many people join her. When we beat Baylor last year I don’t know how many threes we hit, but that was the only way to get it done. If you don’t do that you don’t stand a chance.”

On the impact of Britney Griner:
“I think she’s the most dominant player in the world, I really do. I think she’s changing basketball. If I had to take one player, I don’t know how you wouldn’t take her. She’s not maxed out yet, she’s going to continue to get better, which is scary for all of us. Britney Griner is the difference maker.”

  Sophomore Forward Toni Young

On the need for more players to step up:
“Right now we’re still growing and we weren’t as relaxed as we usually are. Our whole team can shoot, they’re really great shooters. Eventually we’ll come together. We’re going to work hard this week and we’re not going to let this get us down. They’ll come together and start knocking down shots. It’s just nerves right now.”
