 Head Coach Kim Mulkey

On the game:
"I thought it went well. It was good to see us have energy and I thought our press and transition went well. Until our posts grow up and get experience, we're going to have to really create things on the defensive end of the floor and full-court setting. I thought we really stayed with what we wanted to do -- press and run, press and run. We didn't shoot the ball particularly well from three in the first half, but then we were 70 percent in the second half. That's probably a lot to do with nerves. We got to play a lot of people and see a lot of combinations and I was pleased."

On Mackenzie Robertson's play:
"Mackenzie has waited her turn. She sat that bench patiently for three years. All I ever tell them to do is to do things to contribute to a win and she was just around the basketball. She was active and she had good passes. That doesn't just happen. We are on the perimeter players to all help rebound. Everybody has to rebound this year."

On how steals fuel the offense:
"We're going to have to get a lot of those this year. I think it's in their notebook on our goals defensively. We're athletic and we're not that slow, so we need to create things on the defensive end of the floor. We know what Odyssey (Sims) can do, but we need everyone else to do what she does -- get in passing lanes and get deflections."

On areas that improved as the game went:
"I just thought turnovers were a concern of mine from the newcomers because they get excited, but I thought we slowed down at the right times to let the screens be set and we didn't have that many turnovers. That was an area I thought we could be really erratic and wild."

 Senior PG Odyssey Sims

On her first game:
"It felt different, the first game of not having BG on the inside. But I kind of like it- new team, new players, and it's different, but I think it'll be more fun. We can get out and run more and press more."

 Senior G Makenzie Robertson

On her rebounding:
"I want to do anything I can to stay on the floor. If that means rebounding then I'll get my little self in there and do whatever I can to get the ball."

 Junior P Sune Agbuke

On playing without Brittney Griner:
"We hear it, and I mean it's obvious. You can't compare us to her in any way. We went against her last year every day, and I've been going against her for the past two years, so in that regard we're not afraid of anybody. We know our worth and we don't feel insecure about anything."
