No. 1 Baylor 94, Western State (Colo.) 24
Ferrell Center (Waco, Texas) - Att.: 3,708

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On the improvement in Odyssey Sims:
“I think she (Odyssey Sims) has improved. I am not even sure that you could see it tonight, but you can see it in practices. Her knee is healthy and that is a lot of it. She is playing more like the Odyssey that we have seen over the years. Penetrating is a big part of her game, and when she can penetrate, she can pass the ball better. We know she can shoot the three-ball. I think she is learning the system a little better, and I see flashes of progress every day.”

On what the team can take away from the game tonight:
“Our practices are pretty tough, and that is why you saw me rotate a lot of people in and out. What you get is an opportunity to come out here in front of your fans and get a game-like setting and you want to win, but you are really not looking at score. You are looking at kids that are just being able to just get away from a practice setting. You get to look at different combinations. It is the season, it’s an exhibition and it is what it is. It is just an opportunity to get in a game setting.”

On Freshman Post Sune Agbuke:
“She, like a lot of freshman, wanted to do well, but was nervous. She had an outlet pass that was really good, and she had a couple of tough rebounds. We called a time-out to try to get her a look, but she missed the shot and got fouled. Sune is fine. She is going against juniors down there in Brooklyn Pope, Brittney Griner, Destiny Williams, and she is going to have some tough lessons ahead of her, but I think it will make her better.”

Baylor Post Brittney Griner
On the international experience over the summer:
“I was one of the youngest, so I just tried to learn from the veterans. I just wanted to go out there and play as hard as I can.”

Baylor Guard Odyssey Sims
On getting back on the floor:
“It’s exciting. We’ve got a lot going for us. It was just nice to get back out there. We’ve got a lot to prove.”

On the international experience over the summer:
“For me, I just kind of sat back and evaluated because I was one of the young players on the team. As a point guard, I just watched the other players and found things I could take away from it.”
