Waco, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bears defeated Delta Kosice (Slovakia) 71-47 at the Ferrell Center to complete exhibition play on Monday night.

The Lady Bears pulled out to a 6-0 lead at the start of the game, and stretched their lead to 13-2 with a seven point run. A smothering defense held the Delta Kosice scoreless until the 16:38 mark. By halftime the Lady Bears were out to a 29-point lead, 41-12.

Junior guard Sheila Lambert led Baylor in scoring for the first half with 11 points. Lambert finished the game with a team-high 17 points, shooting 3-of-4 from the foul line. In addition, she dished out five assists and pulled down eight rebounds to tie the team high.

Monica Arnold, a 6-2 senior post, popped in 10 points in the first half and finished with 16. Arnold hit the boards with eight rebounds.

"On defense I focused on trying to go to the boards, but what is amazing is that I didn't have any fouls," Arnold said. "The biggest thing for now is defense."

Junior forward Danielle Crockrom pulled down eight rebounds, and finished up with 14 points to complete double-digit scoring for the Lady Bears.

"Danielle is very active when she wants to be. She is there fighting for some offensive rebounds. It is your enthusiasm, and it spreads. Danielle has been more alive than the past two years." Mulkey-Robertson said.

Freshman guard Chanelle Fox came in off the bench pulled in six rebounds in her 15 minutes of playing time.

"Chanelle brought a lot of intensity to the floor. What she did tonight is what she needs to do every night," Mulkey-Robertson said. "She really was a spark for us tonight.

"Exhibitions are now over. It is time to play the game for real," Mulkey-Robertson added.

The Lady Bears will open up regular season play in Boston at the Boston University Tournament where they take on Miami (Ohio) on Saturday Nov. 18th and Boston University or Yale on Nov. 19th.
