No. 1/1 Baylor 91, Chattanooga 31
Ferrell Center – Waco, Texas
November 13, 2011 - Att. 7,005

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On her 300th win:
“That’s a reflection of the kids you coach. I know my name goes by it, but truthfully it’s just wins for our program. It’s a reflection of the great players I’ve gotten to coach. It’s also a reflection of the University I work for and it’s important that they allow me to go out and hire good assistant coaches. Those wins, they’ll remain right here at Baylor. I really didn’t know about it until Rick (May) asked me about it before the game. But, I guess that’s good. More wins than losses, I guess.”

On the team picking her up at the end of the game:
“See this team, I can’t stay mad at them long. They’ve got a personality about them where they look at me like ‘Coach we’ve got this under control.’ How do you fight them coming to lift you? I tried initially and then it’s like, you know some things in life you just give up on, and I gave up on it. But that was kind of those girls, and you know what, I can lift all of them up because they’ve got a lot more wins left in this basketball team.”

On the big runs in the game:
“We played better today than we did against Howard for whatever reason. I thought our kids let me piece some things together out there with some combinations and we didn’t miss a beat. I thought that Odyssey (Sims) and Brittney (Griner) set the tone. I thought that all those guys who went out there at the beginning of the game had a different mindset than maybe they did against Howard. It was just a lot more intense and more energy. It just spread to the whole team. It was fun to coach the today.”

Baylor Forward Brooklyn Pope
On her offensive rebounds:
“I tried to make them on the first attempt, but sometimes they just don’t go in so I tried again until you can’t try anymore.”

Baylor Guard Odyssey Sims
On the difference between today’s game versus the game against Howard:
“I don’t really know. I guess we were just ready to play. In the Howard game, we didn’t play as well as we should have. Just coming back knowing that there were back-to-back games made us focus. We just needed to go out there and play hard and do what we needed to do.”
