Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On what she learned about the team in today's game:
"I learned we are a good defensive team. I learned that we have the athleticism to rebound the ball and I thought that rebounding was key in a lot of stretches, particularly when they cut the lead. I thought we finally buckled down and got rebounds. I thought it was important to get the foul line, we knew that they were going to mix up their defenses, man and zone. I just thought getting to the foul line was important. We turned it over too much, but in critical parts of the game, I didn't think the press was a factor against us. We ended up with 17 turnovers and that doesn't look good, but through the course of the game, I just never thought turnovers were a problem. It goes without saying, Brittney Griner was 14 for 18, get her the ball more. Odyssey Sims was a spark off of the bench, but I was proud of Terran Condery. Terran played 30-plus minutes and if you just look at her stat lines, she had two assists, two turnovers, six rebounds... she was real special tonight."

On the matchup between Skylar Diggins and Odyssey Sims:
"Skylar Diggins is one of the pre-season top five players in the country. She is a year older than Odyssey. If you are a competitor you know all of that information. Odyssey looked to put her stamp on there today and say `look I am not so bad either' and I think she did."

On Brittney Griner's 32 points:
"We are not just a one-player team. When you look down the lineup, we are pretty darn good. Everything we do can flow through Brittney Griner in the type of offense we run, but all of these other kids can play. Who are you going to stop, Destiny Williams? Here comes Brooklyn (Pope), then Terran gives you eight or nine and Kimetria Hayden didn't have a great game, really. We have a little bit of help around the big girl and we need to keep it."

Baylor Post Brittney Griner
On her intensity today:
"I was just really pumped. (It was our) First TV game; number one versus two. Who wouldn't be pumped up to go out there and play? All of our fans were out there and they were into the game. We appreciate everyone who came out today because they gave us energy to."

On Terran Conderey's performance today:
"She is a quiet player, but she helped us out a lot today. I knew she would step up and I hope she does it each game because it would really help us out a lot."

Baylor Guard Odyssey Sims
On her motivation in today's game:
"I was just motivated all together. Playing against her (Skylar Diggins), playing against that team, playing in front of the crowd, number one versus number two, just all of that put together. We had great support from the fans and it was just a great atmosphere. When the lights come on we have got to perform, and I thought my team did a really good job, BG did well, Destiny did well, I think everyone did good. Everyone that played contributed in the right way."

On Baylor's defensive effort:
"Just considering last year to this year, we are getting better. We have a lot of athletes, quickness on the wings, and our posts are getting after it. We are just getting better on defense. We are just working in practice every day just getting each other better and we are taking it to the floor trying to get as many steals as we can. BG can block shots, get rebounds and we just want to be the best defensive teams we can be."

Notre Dame Head Coach Muffet McGraw
Opening statement:
"They are just so difficult to guard, and (Brittney) Griner, of course. We expected coming in that she was going to be able to have her way inside, and we tried a couple of different looks on her, but it didn't really matter. She shot the ball extremely well. She's an incredibly talented young lady. I have to say that we came into the game expecting that she would score, but I was disappointed with the way we guarded the other players. I thought we struggled to contain the ball, we put them on the line way too much, and we didn't play the kind of defense that we hope to play this year. I think this was a good learning experience, and we have some great film to watch. We can improve a lot. It's great that it's in November and we can look ahead to what we want to be and know that we're not there now. I think we have that promise, and we have that vision of our team moving forward, but it was a very disappointing loss today."

On what Notre Dame did to limit Griner's touches in the second half:
"We packed in the zone, and I thought it was pretty effective for the first four minutes of the second half. They missed some shots and turned it over a little bit, and we kind of got back into gear a little bit better, but they found her pretty quickly after that four minute stretch." On the play of Notre Dame in the second half:
"We changed the look, and we went zone with a little bit of a contained press and tried to slow them down a little bit. Offensively, our struggle was that we continued to shoot 3's that weren't going in. We had some wide open looks that we couldn't make, and we're a really good shooting team. That was really disappointing. I felt like we got great looks, and we just didn't knock them down. For us to win this game, we felt like we had to make shots. I think their defense was really good on the ball, but we had some really wide open looks at the three that we just didn't make."

Notre Dame Guard Skylar Diggins
On what the team can learn from this game:
"Just making sure that we execute. I thought a lot of times we got out of our plan. I don't think we protected the ball well, and you have to credit their defense also. We have to make sure we focus on executing what she draws up. Defensively, our number one goal was to board, but we didn't. We missed some box-out assignments and things like that. We've got to stay disciplined."

On impact of Baylor's defense:
"I thought we got some open looks that we usually knock down, but like coach said, we've got to make an adjustment. I thought that every time we attacked the basket, coach was telling us that we were getting good things, and I agree with that. Credit their pressure on the ball. They ran at the ball and made us make good decisions, but at the same time we have to focus and knock those shots down or keep attacking the basket."
