|Head Coach Kim Mulkey|
On tonight's game:
"I felt good the whole time except for the last seven minutes of the game. I didn't think that the last seven minutes of the game were good. I thought that we lost focus. We got outscored 24-9. I don't care about the score, I just don't think you should end games the way we did. I thought, for the most part, that we accomplished what we wanted to, and that was getting enough playing time for players, but get them off the floor until they can all get healthy."
On the freshmen's progress:
"Progress is there, the mistakes are still there. You can't rush it. You can't eliminate their mistakes, but the more experience that they can get, the more confident they can become. I thought it was good to see Alexis Prince get out there and get some more minutes after being limited to 10. I thought that everybody was excited to be back home. We're still not in playing shape, but we'll get there."
On the defense forcing 27 turnovers:
"I thought our defense was active. I thought our hands were active. We're still not very good on help-side right now. We are allowing people to come off screens and get into the paint. I thought our on-ball defense, our speed and quickness, was obviously superior and created a lot of turnovers."
| Senior Guard Kimetria Hayden
On her performance tonight:
"I just let the game come to me tonight. I've been a little off, but I'm focusing more on taking shots and getting the ball to my teammates."
On stepping in at point guard:
"It's just a role until our point guard comes back. I'm not afraid to handle the ball, I'm actually a ball-handler. Just going out there and running the team and getting the points is what I do."
| Senior Forward Brooklyn Pope
On tonight's game:
"I think we did fine until the last seven minutes of the game. I think we just need to work on extending the lead when (Brittney Griner) isn't out there. We didn't do so well on rebounding. We let them get a lot of second-chance shots, and that's the reason why they kept scoring on us. We just have to do a better job on getting the first rebound when we are on defense."
On having to keep the momentum up all game long:
"You want to keep running the floor and go as hard as you can, unless there is 30 seconds on the game clock. That's when you go ahead and get the game over with before someone gets hurt. If we're out there, then it is best that we run the floor because when we play teams like Connecticut, we can't try to slow the game down. We have to run the floor with whoever is out there. When Coach Mulkey says go, we go as hard as we can."
