#8/9 Baylor 104 - Jacksonville State 45 - Nov. 24, 2009
Ferrell Center (Waco, Texas) - Att.: 6,127

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey:

On the team dishing out assists...
"As their personality develops, one of the things that is very noticeable is that we do share the basketball and we are making the extra passes. If we can continue to have ball reversal against any zone or any man defense, a lot of people are going to touch the basketball. These kids flew all (Monday) morning, spent an hour in the film room and an hour on the floor yesterday. It is just good to be back home."

On the post play...
"We are going to take the higher percentage shot and I thought Morghan (Medlock), Whitney (Zachariason), Ashley (Field) and Mariah (Chandler) all had easy looks and we made the pass to get it in to them. It was there and we are going to take advantage of it."

On limiting turnovers...
"(Turnovers) was the first place that I looked (on the stat sheet). The next place I looked, I saw that they had more shot attempts than we did. Some of that can be attributed to high field-goal percentage, but I thought we shot the ball well from the foul line. We haven't done those three things particularly well this season. Two of the three were pretty good tonight."

Freshman Post Brittney Griner

On her dunk...
"I was kind of glad to get it going--it was a spark to get the team going. I don't really think about it too much. It was fun."

Senior Forward Morghan Medlock

On the team's quick runaround following a road trip...
"I just think it says a lot about our team that no matter the conditions we are always going to come out and give everything that we have."

Jacksonville State Head Coach Becky Geyer

On Brittany Griner's dunk...
"Well you know it is interesting, I was at Trinity in San Antonio, Texas for 13 years and we ran that same play, not of course for a dunk, but that overhead play. Good for her. Unfortunately it was against us. We really felt at the time we were getting beat on our zone defense on the backside, so we just tried to change it up, so I just say good for her."

On her team's lack of size...
"It is very difficult when you don't have the size, because I think Baylor is just so athletic and not only with Griner, but at other positions. There is no doubt we need to work on our boxing out, but I thought they did a great job on the boards."

On Brittney Griner being as good advertised...
"I tell you what, she is definitely going to make a difference here. I think the best thing for Baylor is that she is not coming into a team where she has to change the world. Baylor has already had a great reputation for a great team for a long time. So you add somebody like that to your team and I tell you what, she is tough to stop and she makes Baylor tough to stop."
