WACO, Texas (AP) - Brittney Griner stayed in the game long enough for second-ranked Baylor to get one more rebound. That's all she needed for her fourth career triple-double, though she didn't realize she was that close.

"Nah, not until they told me. I didn't really know," Griner said. "Actually, I thought it was a double-double. I didn't know it was a triple-double."

Griner had 28 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots despite playing only 21 minutes Sunday in Baylor's 106-41 victory over Southeastern Louisiana.

"She was getting ready to come out and they told me she needed another rebound, so I let her stay another 40 seconds or whatever it was," coach Kim Mulkey said. "She's a once-in-a-lifetime player. You enjoy her while you have her. You don't take her for granted."

When Griner left the game for good with 13:54 left, only seconds after getting her last rebound, the 6-foot-8 sophomore had outscored the previously undefeated Lions 28-22 on her own. Baylor (7-1) led 78-22 by then.

"We knew she was probably going to get what she got," Southeastern Louisiana coach Lori Davis Jones said. "Our biggest thing is don't let her dunk on you."

Latoria Holder scored 10 points to lead Southeastern Louisiana (5-1).

Griner had 20 points by halftime, when Baylor led 64-18.

The Lady Bears broke a 32-year-old school record for first-half points, bettering the 61 scored before halftime against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Dec. 7, 1978. Their 46-point halftime lead was also the largest in school history.

"I thought it was a very good half," Mulkey said. "You had three turnovers at the half, shot the ball well. But there won't be many games like that left."

Baylor, whose only loss was by one point at top-ranked Connecticut, has won its seven home games by an average of 45 points. The Lady Bears are home again Wednesday to play 18th-ranked Notre Dame and also take on fourth-ranked Tennessee in their next three games.

Ashley Field and Makenzie Robertson had 12 points each for Baylor, which shot 57 percent (38 of 67). Odyssey Sims had 10 points and Field also grabbed seven rebounds.

Griner was 12 of 16 from the field and made all four of her free throws. She has averaged 29.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.0 blocks in the four games since the UConn loss.

Since making only 5 of 13 free throws in that one-point loss at Connecticut, Griner has made 31 of 34 (91 percent). She has shot 68 percent (44 of 65) from the field.

Within the first 83 seconds against Southeastern Louisiana, Griner already had an offensive rebound, a jumper and a blocked shot.

Baylor raced to a 16-2 lead in the first 4 1/2 minutes of the game. Melissa Jones hit two 3-pointers, one after a Griner block, and had a breakaway layup in that opening spurt.

Griner scored 12 of the Lady Bears' next 14 points to push their lead to 30-8.

Already Baylor's career blocks leader, Griner extended her total to 268 in 43 games. The preseason AP All-American has 45 blocks in eight games this season after setting an NCAA record with 223 last season as a freshman when the Lady Bears went to the Final Four.

The Big 12 record for career triple-doubles is five by Kansas State's Shalee Lehning.

Southeastern Louisiana was off to its best start since winning its first six games in 1988-89. The Lions hadn't played a ranked opponent since December 2003, when they lost 97-47 against LSU.
