WACO, Texas - Six Baylor players scored in double figures as the Lady Bears set a new school record for most points in NCAA competition as the No. 12 Baylor women's basketball team cruised to a 117-50 win over Sam Houston State in action at the Ferrell Center on Monday night.
"This was a good game, a good way to go into a break. They ought to feel good about themselves," head coach Kim Mulkey said. "The more experience they get, the more confident they become and the better we become as a team."
The Lady Bears were in control from the opening tip as Baylor opened the game on a 39-3 run.
The scoring outburst was highlighted by three three-pointers from Angela Tisdale and two more from Jessica Morrow as the Lady Bears cruised to a 59-26 edge at the break.
It was more of the same for the Lady Bears in the second half, as Baylor continued its hot-shooting en-route to a 67-point win, the seventh largest margin of victory in school history.

The 117-point outburst was tied for the third-highest total in school history and the most since Baylor scored 123 in a win over Texas State on December 4, 1978.
An incredible 65-19 edge on the glass helped Baylor hold a 68-8 edge in points in the paint while the Lady Bears forced 22 turnovers, including 12 steals, in the victory.
Bo Warm led the way for Sam Houston State with 11 points in the loss.
Baylor will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 13, when the Lady Bears host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7:00 p.m.
