Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On the game:
"I thought we were rusty a little bit; but, that's why I played the full court pressure defense that we looked so bad in. I just refused to let those guys set the tone and just become slow paced out there and move like snails. So, I just decided to press on every made basket and we got burned deep a lot. Although it didn't look great, it served a purpose in that we tried to push the issue and not be passive."
On Danielle Wilson:
"Danielle Wilson has the ability to lead this program as one of the top shot blocking post players we've ever had. If she will just continue to get better on the defensive end of the floor, you're going to see numbers like tonight because she stays on the floor longer. She is a presence in the paint for us because of her size.
On being ready to play UCLA:
"No, we were not tonight. But, hopefully tomorrow, Friday and Saturday will give us a few good days to prepare and head out there."
Baylor Post Rachel Allison
On being rusty:
"I thought that we had a couple days off since our last game, and then we had finals so we took some practice days off. I thought this was a good game to work on some things that we needed to work on and now I think we'll be better prepared to go down and play UCLA."
Baylor Post Danielle Wilson
On the game:
"I just really tried to go for offensive boards today. Coach would always get on me in practice, talking about how I needed to rebound more. So, today, I just focused on going to the boards and getting more offensive rebounds."
