Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On younger players getting more playing time:
"Alexis (Prince) has God-given ability that you can't coach. She's like most freshmen because she's uncomfortable at times, but lot of her being uncomfortable is because of her foot. It's just an injury that we will have to deal with at the end of the season, and she's got to do the best that she can. We'll have to monitor her in practice and get her through the year."
On the game:
"I thought that for the most part that everybody understands that this is it. They know that we are at the most important part of our season, and that is conference play."
On Brooklyn Pope and Jordan Madden continuing to improve:
"You want both Brooklyn and Jordan to keep on doing what they are doing. You know what you will get from Destiny (Williams), Brittney (Griner), Nae-Nae (Hayden) and Odyssey (Sims). If all those kids are playing their best, we are hard to beat. As you start into conference play, it can be a really special season for them if they all play very well. It starts with the defensive end of the floor. If they play hard on that end, they can score a lot of points in a short period of time as you have seen. I just see flashes of the team that understands that non-conference is done and that it is time to focus. Let's challenge ourselves to be the first Big 12 team to go undefeated two seasons in a row."
On Brittney Griner's dunk attempt:
"I told her that she hadn't been jumping, and I'm sure that that has something to do with her legs. There were times in the game earlier that I told her if she slows down and takes one dribble on the baseline that she'd be able to throw it down. In timeouts I mentioned to just go up and jump. She has the green light to do that, and I won't take her out of the game for trying. I just wanted her to have the opportunity to get up and jump. Brittney has been nursing her legs, and it is time to forget about those legs and go play."
Senior Guard Destiny Williams
On her thoughts on her game:
"I thought that it was a fresh start coming from Christmas. We had a lot of time off and to come out and play the way I did was a good thing."
On her role on the team:
"I just come in and do what I have to do. I contribute what I can when I can and try to stay consistent at all times. I do that and help the team come out with the win, that's all that matters."
Senior Guard Jordan Madden
On her shooting:
"You can't make them all. I guess it was kind of a surprise to miss one the second half."
On her thoughts about her performance:
"I made all my layups, but I could get better on my defense."
