No. 9/9 Baylor Hosts Kansas in First League Home Game...
The ninth-ranked Baylor Lady Bears, 11-1 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 action, put three win streaks on the line when they host the University of Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m.

Baylor sports a league-record 41-game regular-season Big 12 Conference win streak, a Big 12-best 50-straight overall, including 9-0 in Big 12 Championship play, and has won a nation's-best 67-game straight home games.

The contest is a FOX Sports Network national broadcast, please check local listings for area availability. Ron Thulin will call the game action while Brenda Van Lengen provides color commentary.

The Jayhawks, under the direction of 17th-year head coach Bonnie Henrickson, enter the contest with a 7-6 season record and an 0-1 Big 12 mark. Kansas lost its home Big 12 opener on Thursday to West Virginia, 65-55.

Senior guard Odyssey Sims continues to lead Baylor in scoring at a nation's-best and Big 12-leading 30.9 points per game. The Irving, Texas, native is averaging 4.0 rebounds a contest while dishing out 4.8 assists per game and shooting 51.0 percent from the floor. With 527 career assists, Sims is the program's all-time leader and needs just two more treys (194) to become BU's leader in that category, too.

Freshman Nina Davis (5-11, forward/post) is averaging 14.5 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. The Memphis, Tenn., native ranks No. 2 nationally in field goal percentage, hitting an impressive 68.0 (66-97) percent of her shots.

Junior post Sune Agbuke (6-4) is the team's top rebounder with 8.7 an outing, followed by Davis' 7.3 rpg. Freshman Khadijiah Cave (6-2 post) manages 6.9 a game while sophomore Kristina Higgins (6-5 post) contributes 6.0 a contest.

Sophomore guard Niya Johnson is the team's top distributor and ranks No. 7 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12, averaging 7.3 assists an outing while Sims follows with 4.8 a game.

Kansas is led by two double-digit scorers, Chelsea Gardner, a 6-3 junior forward leads the team in both scoring and rebounding at 17.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest while junior guard (6-1) Asia Boyd manages 13.7 points an outing.

  • The rookies are holding their own in shooting percentage as well, with the group shooting 45.3 percent (147-324) from the floor while the team is managing 46.4 percent.
  • Nina Davis, Imani Wright and Khadijiah Cave are three of Baylor's top four scorers with 14.5, 7.0 and 6.9 points per game, respectively.
